Happy Wednesday everyone! I’m super excited to welcome you all back to my blog for the 13th ‘Twisted Tradition’ block tutorial! I’m even more excited to be introducing you to my friend Erin Zinobile of Faller Girl who twisted the traditional quilt block and created a tutorial for you all.
Before we get to the block I want to share a few fun facts about Erin Z!
Erin with her #scrappytripalong quilt.
Erin blogs at Faller Girl and you can also find her on facebook, pinterest, flickr and twitter (@erinrebeccaz).
What is your favorite thing about Quilt Alongs?
I love seeing how other people interpret a similar theme. I also love the community, the motivation, and (occasionally) the prizes!
What type of quilter do you consider yourself – traditional, modern, contemporary, other…?
All of the above, with a little dash of funky.
What other quilt alongs are you participating in in 2014?
While it’s not exactly a quilt-along, I am beyond obsessed with my Project Quilting Mystery Bundle Challenge. It is a mixture of Farmer’s Wife quilt blocks, and hand-pieced hexagon flowers. My goal is to make it queen-sized, so it is keeping me VERY busy!
I’ve also been doing the Pat Sloan Globetrotting mystery quilt along…I still need to finish the March block!
And I’ve been dreaming about doing the Aurifil designer of the month quilt along, but I might have to catch up with those in April after I’ve gotten my Farmer’s Wife done 😉
Apples or oranges?
Oranges!
Favorite Book:
Beloved by Toni Morrison. I also generally love anything by Flannery O’Connor, Cormac McCarthy, and Dave Eggers.
Now that we’ve found out a little more about Erin – let’s check out her block…
Erin decided to twist the traditional Bear Claw Block for us this week and we’ll be making the ‘Talking Heads’ Block.
Head on over to Erin’s Blog Now to see how you can make your very own ‘Talking Heads’ Block!
I can’t wait to see what all your blocks look like! Be sure to share you blocks and any projects you make using your blocks onto our flickr group: 52 Blocks Quilt Along
