It’s already Wednesday! Have no fears – I put together a really fun twist on a block just yesterday! This is a really easy block but it’s going to give you endless ideas – perhaps spice up a sashing, hide a butterfly or three in a quilt… The possibilities of the ‘Flutterby Butterfly’ Block are endless!
Flutterby Butterfly Block Tutorial for
52 Twisted Traditional Block Quilt Along
Finished Block Size – 4.25” x 7”
For this block tutorial I twisted an already pretty untraditional block – a butterfly block. It also demonstrates a fun block that can be made just by tweaking a commonly made half square triangle block. My twist makes it look a little bit more like a butterfly and this block can create a whimsical element to any quilt.

The pattern for Flutterby Butterfly is very nice. Thank you for sharing. I can see using buttons or YOYOs for the heads.
