Happy Sunday everyone!  I’m so anxious to get started with Season 5 of Project QUILTING that I’ve decided to add to the Project QUILTING challenge fun of Season 5 and offer a BONUS Project QUILTING Challenge.

How will this be different than the normal Project QUILTING Challenges?

• To participate you must purchase the Mystery Bundle.
• You will have more than a week to complete the challenge.

The main portion of your Mystery bundle is going to be one yard of our hand-dyed fabric.  The dyed yardage will all be dyed in the same batch so they’ll all be similar…but different.  Along with the yardage I will also include a random fat quarter of fabric, maybe a few fabric scraps, and perhaps an embellishment or two.  What’s most exciting – it will be a surprise!

Note on our Hand-Dyed Fabrics.  Our fabric is dyed on Moda PFD fabric using Procion dye…it is the highest quality of hand-dyed.

Before you decide if you want to participate in the bonus Challenge…let’s see what Diane came up with for us…

Triple Trouble

1. Your project must include at least 3 star blocks, 3 nine patch blocks and at least one other traditional block.  The 3 star blocks can be all the same, although they do not have to be.  Likewise with the nine patch blocks.  You may add more blocks, sashing, etc if you wish.

2. You must use each of the fabrics and other items in the official packet from Persimon Dreams in a recognizable amount on the front of your quilt.

3.  You may add as many other fabrics and other materials as you wish.

4. Any size or shape is fine.

5. Your project does not need to be a traditional quilt, but must meet at least one of these requirements:

• Include patchwork.
• Include appliqué.
• Have 3 layers stitched together by hand or machine.

6. Your project must have a name.

7.    POST your COMPLETED (pieced, quilted and bound) quilt entries with a description of your creative process, including where you are (ie, I create in Madison, WI)and the size of your project by Tuesday, April 15th, 2014, at noon, CDT, to this flickr group, Project QUILTING BONUS 2014 Triple Trouble Challenge–OR email a picture/description of your completed project to {lapaceksorchard at gmail dot com} with PROJECT QUILTING in the subject line.

Mystery Bundles need to have been purchased by now.  There may be a few opportunities in January to win a Mystery Bundle yet though…stay tuned!

 Packages will be mailed out all on the same day no later than January 15th.  You will have until Tuesday, April 15th at NOON, CDT (yup, my birthday!) to complete your challenges and post the photo’s and stories behind your pieces to THIS Flickr Group:  http://www.flickr.com/groups/2422550@N20/
