Tutorial for the Home Sweet Home Quilt Along BUT actually works really well for fun sashing ideas to any quilt. I’m pretty sure that I’ll be doing one or two (or five) of these crazy sashings on my Christmas In July Block-a-thon Quilt. I just love the pizzazz they add!
I know the picture isn’t very good of the sashing but it’s really so easy that it doesn’t need the best picture (it’s above the House on the Bay Block). Once my quilted quilt gets home I’ll replace it with a better picture!
Take your scrap strips that you have left over from piecing your blocks for the quilt along. Sew them so they measure a minimum of 3.5” x 12.5” – don’t worry about width or even if they’re all straightly cut – it will all work out in the end! Once you have sewed them together trim your block down to 3.5” x 12.5” – there you have it! A fun, random strippy sashing!
