Quilted Wall Hanging Autumn Splendor I’m excited to introduce to you a guest judge for this weeks Project QUILTING challenge – Nancy of UniquelyNancy! Nancy is a very talented quilter that I have met through the Quiltsy Team on etsy and I was delighted when she agreed to be a guest judge. Here’s a little bit about Nancy’s quilting background: Quilt Twin-Double Pinwheel Design I have been quilting for about 30 years. I started out by making simple quilts for our church to raffle. I donated about 8 quilts to the church and then started to encourage some of the other ladies to help. We also made some children’s quilts for victims of a fire. I have done craft shows for 40 years and brought along my quilts to get people to come to my booth. I have never taken a class but have given them to a few friends. Quilted Wall Hanging When asked to donate quilts to a local show, I was surprised to find out how many I owned. My family kept trying to get me to sell my quilts, but it was hard for me to part with them at first. I still feel a little sad to see them go but it gives me the incentive to make more. Many of the children in the family have received them as wedding and Christmas gifts. My goal is to make each niece a quilt and then start on the nephews. There are 22 nieces and nephews and several more greats. I’ll be busy for a long time. Quilted Wall Hanging New York City I did an interview with Nancy way back in the beginning of 2009 in my early blogging days – here’s the link if you want to learn more about Nancy! http://kimlapacek.com/2009/01/chat-with-uniquelynancy.html ***It’s not too late to join in the Project QUILTING Challenge fun – the latest challenge was just posted yesterday! http://kimlapacek.com/2010/07/season-1-challenge-5-stars-over-america.html***
